On April 18, the first sod was turned for the creation of the "Varietable Beds" ("Bunte Beete") on the deconsecrated cemetery in Hörde. In bright sunshine, a good dozen motivated gardeners have created 5 beds in which soon potatoes, beans, zucchini, squash and of course colorful beds will grow. We will continue with the planting of potatoes on April 22nd and the construction of a bean tent on May 27th. Our partners in Congo have many garden projects where vegetables are grown on church land to provide food for the people and generate income.
